ARE YOU A COFFEE LOVER?
ENJOY KOLEGA COFFEE!

KOLEGA MEANS "FRIEND" IN THE TIMORESE LANGUAGE TETUM

PREMIUM ORGANIC COFFEE IS MAKING A REAL DIFFERENCE

Our coffee has a rich but sweet flavour and is sought after by coffee lovers throughout Australia.

Kolega Coffee is a single origin, organic Arabica bean harvested from four districts across East Timor - Ermera, Alieu, Liquica and rural Dili. It includes beans produced by growers from five villages in the Ermera District.

East Timor produces less than one percent of the world's coffee; nevertheless, coffee is a crucial component of the country's overall economy. It is the primary source of income for about one quarter of the country's population.

The growing, harvesting and drying of coffee beans, is a family venture for people in these villages, who often have no other source of income.

The trees grow on a hillside one kilometre from the village under the acacia trees. These trees provide not only shade but also nutrients from the decaying leaves.

Kolega Coffee is ethically imported and hand roasted by boutique Brisbane coffee house, BlueSky Coffee. The coffee is medium roasted to bring out the aromatic complexity of the bean. These single origin premium Maubisse beans produce delightfully smooth and rich coffee with a lingering pleasant finish.

With BlueSky's roasting expertise, we have developed a product that will delight your senses whilst also allowing you to contribute directly to improving the lives of the coffee growers in East Timor and their families.

All profits from the sale of Kolega Coffee are returned to the villagers, to support the farming families.

Through your individual purchase or by 'switching' your office to this wonderful coffee, you can further build awareness of the East Timorese story and directly improve returns to these communities.
